Boise * Boston
Meet your group this morning at the Boise airport and begin your adventure.
Upon arrival in Boston you will board your Deluxe Motorcoach and travel to
Concord. Overnight: Best Western at Historic Concord.
Oct. 5:
Boston * Lincoln (CB, L, D)
Enjoy a deluxe continental
breakfast at your hotel then meet your local step-on-guide. Explore
Lexington & Concord, the birthplace of American Liberty and the sight of the
“shot heard ’round the world”. Continue to Canterbury Shaker Village where
a box lunch will be provided upon arrival. Shaker Village is a National
Historic Landmark and Museum in Canterbury, New Hampshire, with 25 restored
and 4 reconstructed Shaker buildings. Its 694 acres site includes gardens,
fields, ponds and forests. Known for its tranquil beauty, the village
offers tours, exhibits, workshops, family programs, hiking trails, unique
shopping and delicious food. Continue to Lincoln where you will enjoy
dinner and entertainment at your hotel. Overnight: Beacon Resort for 2
nights.
Oct. 6: White Mountain National Forest Sightseeing (B,L,D)
After
breakfast at your hotel a local step-on-guide will join you to see the area
sights.
Travel to Franconia Notch State Park on the western slopes of the White
Mountain National Forest. Take a scenic Tram ride on Cannon Mountain then
travel to Crawford Notch State Park and on to North Conway. (A box lunch
will be provided to you while on tour.) Return to Lincoln via the
Kancamagus Highway. Undoubtedly, one of the most spectacular sections of
the White Mountains Trail, it stretches 34 ½ miles from Conway to Lincoln.
Known as “The Kanc” it traverses the White Mountain National Forest, cresses
the flank of Mt. Kancamagus and climbs to
nearly 3000 feet, providing
dramatic views. The highway was named for an early Indian Chief who tried
to keep the peace between his people and the white settlers. This evening
enjoy dinner and entertainment at your hotel.
Oct. 7
Lincoln * Middlebury (B, D)
After a full breakfast at your hotel you will travel to Vermont and tour the
Maple Grove Museum and Factory. Then continue to Stowe, nestled beside
Vermont’s highest peak, majestic Mt. Mansfield. You will enjoy free time to
explore this world famous village where the colorful hillsides- ablaze with
red, orange, and gold – are truly breathtaking. It’s a treat for the senses
and the soul! This afternoon you will tour Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory
then continue to Middlebury where you will join your group this evening for
a special “Old English Carvery Dinner” at your hotel. Overnight: Middlebury
Inn
Oct. 8:
Middlebury * Boston (B)
This morning you will be treated to a full breakfast at your hotel before
departing for Proctor. Here you will visit the Vermont Marble Museum, the
world’s largest marble museum. Quarried from the Green Mountains, Vermont
marble has been used in buildings and monuments around the world. Continue
to Bennington and visit the Old First Congregational Church then travel the
Molly Stark Trail, named after the wife of General John Stark who achieved
hero status during the Revolutionary War by defeating the Kings troops in
1777. A stop at the Bridge of Flowers will be made as you travel to Concord
for the night. Overnight: Best Western Historic Concord.

9:
Boston * Cape Cod (CB)
After a deluxe continental
breakfast at your hotel you will depart for Boston where you will meet a
local step-on-guide. Travel the Freedom Trail then visit the USS
Constitution “Old Ironsides”, the Paul Revere Home, and the Old North
Church. Step by step you will discover the dramatic history of our
country’s birth. The sites here are not recreations or
adaptations, they are real! This afternoon you will take the short drive to
Hyannis where you will stay the next 2 nights. Overnight: Radisson Hotel
Hyannis
Oct.
10: Cape Cod (B, D)
A full breakfast will be served at your hotel this morning then you’re off
to explore Cape Cod. A local step-on-guide will join you for this fun
filled day visiting the many unique villages in this famous area. Tonight
you will join your group at a local restaurant for dinner before returning
to your hotel for the evening.

11: Cape Cod * Boise
After breakfast at your
hotel you will travel the short distance to Pilgrim Memorial State Park, the
smallest State Park in Massachusetts, and the most heavily visited. Here
you will see Plymouth Rock, where traditions tell us the passengers on the
Mayflower first set foot in the New World. Next visit the Mayflower II, a
replica of the ship that brought the first pilgrims to Massachusetts. Then
it’s on to Plimoth Plantation, the living history museum of 17th
century Plymouth. The Plantation’s Pilgrim Village brings to life Plimoth
of 1627 and it replicates the original site of the Plimoth settlement. Each
house in the village contains painstakingly accurate reproductions of the
furniture, tools, and cooking equipment used by the village and are used by
the museum staff to re-create the daily life of the colony. This afternoon
return to Boston where you will board your flight and return home. |
