Oct. 6: Boston Sightseeing Meet your local guide for your all day tour. Travel the Freedom Trail in Boston, see the USS Constitution “Old Ironsides” and visit the Old North Church and Paul Revere’s House. Step by step you will discover the dramatic history of this country’s birth. The sites here are not recreations or adaptations, they are real!
Oct. 9:
White Mountain Sightseeing (B, L, D)
After
breakfast at your hotel, a local step-on guide will join you to see the area
sights and a boxed lunch will be provided for you to enjoy while on tour.
Travel to Franconia Notch State Park on the western slopes of the White
Mountain National Forest. Take a scenic Tram ride on Cannon Mountain then
travel to Crawford Notch State Park then on to North Conway. Return to
Lincoln via the Kancamagus Highway, which is undoubtedly one of the most
spectacular sections of the White Mountains Trail stretching 34 1/2 miles
from Conway to Lincoln. Known as “The Kanc” it traverses the White Mountain
National Forest, crosses the flank of Mt. Kancamagus and climbs to nearly
3000 feet, providing dramatic views. The highway was named for an early
Indian Chief who tried to keep the peace between his people and the white
settlers.
Oct. 11: Middlebury - Boston (B, D) This morning you will be treated to a full breakfast at your hotel before departing for Proctor. Here you will visit the Vermont Marble Museum, the world’s largest marble museum. Quarried from the Green Mountains, Vermont marble has been used in buildings and monuments around the world. Continue to Bennington and visit the Old First Congregational Church then travel the Molly Stark Trail, named after the wife of General John Stark who achieved hero status during the Revolutionary War by defeating the Kings troops in 1777. A stop at the Bridge of Flowers will be made as you travel to Boston where you will join the group at the Colonial Inn for dinner then continue to your hotel. Overnight: Hilton Boston/Woburn
Oct. 12:
Boston - Boise
Meet a local step-on-guide for a tour of Lexington and
Concord, the birthplace of American Liberty and the sight of the “shot heard
‘round the world”. An early afternoon departure takes you back to Boston
where you will board your flight and return home.
