MISTY FJORDS EXECUTIVE FLIGHTSEEING

Alaska's Inside Passage of Southeast Alaska is home to some of the most breathtaking scenery on earth. One of its jewels is the majestic Misty Fjords National Monument. Carved by glaciers long ago, snow capped, sheer granite cliffs rise dramatically 3,500 out of the sea, ribboned with waterfalls plummeting sensationally thousands of feet. Completely roadless and consisting of 2.2 million acres, an area larger than Yellowstone makes a seaplane tour the only way to comfortably experience the many different levels within the deep, narrow fjords.

                KETCHIKAN CITY TOUR AND TOTEM BIGHT

We saw totem poles throughout our trip to Alaska. Generally they are carved from the tall red cedar trees easily found in this area. We saw them in the front yards of homes, often serving as doorways of houses; carved interior house posts that support roof beams, and free standing memorial poles placed in front of houses to honor deceased chiefs. The figures on totem poles are inherited crests, which identify the pole owners and tell their family histories. There are two parks in Ketchikan which house collections of poles and we feel this one     has the most beautiful setting.
